First Response recently completed two projects.  The first was to assist a Fire Protection District with evaluating its options.  We presented our results to their Board who decided to contract for fire protection services with an external agency. This required an election to raise taxes.  We conducted a community meeting and an information campaign.  The tax measure was passed and the contract executed.

 

The second project was to help a town evaluate their options for obtaining police protection.  Options include developing their own police force or contracting with an outside agency.  A recommendation was made and accepted by the town Board.

Glen Saraduke, FPE, P.E.: Glen Saraduke is a licensed fire protection engineer with over 22 years experience. He has been an active State of Colorado certified firefighter and EMT-B for over 9 years. Glen specializes in risk analysis, fire code consulting, performance/alternative code compliance, inspection and testing of fire systems, water supply analysis, fire/accident investigation, plan and calculation reviews, interface with fire departments and evaluation of unusual fire challenges. Past clients/types include, but are not limited to, USAF, US Navy, GSA, Smithsonian, NIST, solar manufacturing, surgical equipment manufacturing, aircraft hangers, hospitals, ammunition testing and manufacturering, hi-rise office buildings, design for fire alarm and fire suppression systems, plan and technical calculation review, fire considerations in remote locations - Antarctica, Indian Ocean, Hawaii and American Samoa. Glen has a BS in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and is a licensed Fire Protection Engineer in Colorado and Idaho. glen.saraduke@firstresp.com

 

Tom Daniels, EMT-P: Tom Daniels has been a Florida certified EMT-P for 25 years and an EMT before that. Tom has an AS degree in Paramedic Technology and a BS-Biology. He has been an American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor in BCLS and ACLS for over 20 years. Tom is a member of the Orange County, Florida EMS Advisory Council and an EMS representative on the Florida Tissue Bank Advisory Board. Formerly, Tom was an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) instructor for Central Florida Fire Academy. Tom was also an Adjunct Professor of EMS at Valencia Community College, Orlando, Florida and a Health Services Paramedic at Universal Studios for eleven years.

 

Edward B. Daniels, Retired Fire Chief: Ed Daniels spent over 14 years with Foothills Fire and Rescue as a firefighter, officer, Board member and Fire Chief. During that time he was extensively involved with local and county fire and EMS agencies and became a Type 3 Incident Commander with the Jefferson County, Colorado Incident Management Team serving in various command and staff roles on wildland fires and other emergency incidents. In addition, for over 25 years Ed has been a business consultant and executive serving as CEO, COO and VP with several technology and healthcare corporations. Ed has an MS degree in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a BA degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Highland Rescue Team Ambulance District, a Colorado Special District. edward.daniels@firstresp.com
